We are being asked frequently – what about 2022?

The organizers of Bellingen Shire Arts Week January 2021 have been discussing the possibility of holding it in September 2022.

The decision to go ahead with Arts Week 2021 was based on the postponement of Camp Creative 2021 hence the need to fill the gap and give local artists and performers shire- wide some motivation. It was a short time frame but thanks to a hard-working team, help from arts councils and chambers of commerce and the wonderful artists, it was achieved.

The overall reaction that it was a big success was enormously gratifying. It also gave a boost to tourism and local commerce. Particularly good was the close collaboration bringing together the three towns, Dorrigo, Bellingen and Urunga.

We have an amazingly diverse, talented, hardworking community of creative people in this shire it would be sad not to offer them the opportunity to participate in another Arts Week.

This will depend totally on being able to recruit new helpers not necessarily artists but administrators. The original team will assist and the groundwork has been done. See  www.bellingenshireartsweek.com

This Shire, DORRIGO – the mountains, BELLINGEN – the valleys, URUNGA – the seaboard and surrounds, is diverse and very beautiful. Perhaps this accounts for the high number of extraordinarily talented and creative people who live here. Arts Week will be a chance for them to share their work and lives with you.
