Why is Arts Week happening ?

One of Bellingen’s major events, Camp Creative, usually held in January, was postponed until 2022 because of Covid-19. It was decided to fill the gap by reviving the original, highly successful Arts Week, held in 2013.

One of the main aims is to give a much needed boost to the shire’s creative industries, local commerce and tourism after an extremely difficult few months. Local artists and community groups are hungry for creative events, so necessary for healthy social and economic wellbeing.

Who are we  ?

The Arts Week Organizing Team has representatives from Dorrigo, Bellingen and Urunga, mostly artists themselves, some of whom were involved in the original 2013 Arts Week.

“The members of the organising group are experienced and competent, dedicated and passionate for the Bellingen Shire Arts Week 2021 to be a success.” Arts Council of The Dorrigo
